Get Answers to Your Garage Door Questions
We understand garage doors and openers and want to share our knowledge with you by providing answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. This FAQ page is a valuable source of information and advice for homeowners.
I lost my garage door opener remote. What should I do?
Aside from searching the last place you remember having it in, your only option is to get a new remote. Some garage door openers can be compatible with some types of universal remote controls, but otherwise, you'll have to get a remote that matches your brand and model. Give us a call and we'll get you a brand new remote.
How do I weatherproof my garage door?
Wood and steel will need to be applied with special rot or rust-resistant materials in order to be better preserved. These protective coats have to be reapplied on a regular basis. Painting over the first layer of coating will offer even better protection. Weatherstripping seals should be installed as well, in order to better insulate your garage.
How often should I change my garage door's access code?
If this function is not automated, in order to make sure your home is as secure as possible, you should change your access codes as frequently as possible. We don't mean every single day (although you could if you so choose), but our experts recommend changing it once a week or at least once every two weeks, just to be safe.
